Todd Hollis, the son of a Methodist minister, knows a thing or two about failure. Fortunately, he knows more about how to take that failure and turn it around into something positive.
Failing out of high school his junior year, Hollis was ready to give up and let go of his dreams. His mother, Judith, told him that as long as he did his best, she would still be proud. Instead of giving up and letting his mother be proud of anything less than the best, Hollis stopped embracing failure and decided to be a winner.
He graduated from Duquesne University with a major in finance and a big dream of becoming a stockbroker. He found a job with Dean Witter at 21 years old and did his training on Wall Street.  Certain that he would immediately find success, Hollis was disappointed to realize that very few people would trust a 21 years old with their financial independence. Yet he persevered, working day and night. Although he was far from wealthy, the money he had earned was his. That feeling was something that couldn’t be taken away from Hollis: that feeling was the taste of success.
But, he realized eventually that Wall Street wasn’t his street. So he went back to school, got a law degree and began work as a criminal lawyer. He has had his practice for more than 14 years. He offers his service to youths who cannot afford it and asks them to donate their time to community service projects to pay off their debt. In this way, Hollis tries to share the feeling of success he learned so long ago on Wall Street.
